Forget the Black Cloud and Get to Back to Work

What is the infamous black cloud of internet marketing?

The other day in a webinar Mark brought the idea up again, and it is so helpful that it needs a quick explanation here to let everyone know about it.

The black cloud is what happens in between the inputs of making money online and the output, which is hopefully money.

What are the inputs?

Typically inputs for internet marketing would be things such as:

* Keyword research.
* Writing and publishing quality articles on your website.
* Promoting your website via forums, blog comments, or guest posting.
* Other link building efforts.
* Testing new forms of monetization.

And of course the main output is always going to be money. But there can be additional outputs as well that may benefit you other than monetary output, such as building up a useful community around the topic of your choice.

So where does the black cloud fit into all of this?

Notice what happens when the inputs go into the black cloud…..money comes out the other side as output. Like magic!

And that is the whole point. That is why it is dark black cloud. We know that some of the inputs produce income, we know that some of our promotional efforts lead to future income, but we can never know EXACTLY what actions we take will lead to more money in the future.

That is a very important concept and it contains a very important lesson for you, so let us spell it out very carefully:

You will never be able to know with 100 percent certainty which articles you write and which links you build will lead to future income.

Sure, we can make educated guesses. Sure, we can try to test, and to measure, and to predict. But the bottom line is this:

So the conclusion?

Go for volume. Maintain quality.
